Gavin O’Connor is the owner of Gavlar Electrical and has been working in the electrical trade since starting his apprenticeship in 2009 with Brian King Engineering. He later completed his apprenticeship with Mercury, where he gained solid experience on large projects and learned the importance of doing things properly – safely, neatly, and to a high standard.
After qualifying, Gavin moved to Australia and worked across a mix of sectors including mining, property development, data centres, and pharmaceutical projects. During his time there, he moved up quickly and took on a supervisory role, leading teams on site and making sure jobs were delivered on time and to spec.
He then moved to London, where he worked with a high-voltage company, adding another layer of experience in more specialist, safety-critical systems.
After COVID, Gavin returned to Ireland and set up Gavlar Electrical – bringing home years of hands-on experience from Ireland, Australia, and the UK. Gavlar Electrical is built on straightforward service, quality workmanship, and getting the job done right the first time.
